LAHORE (Kashmir English): The Punjab government on Monday approved providing 15 ‘clinics on wheels’ to Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) to improve access to healthcare in remote areas.
According to the government spokesperson, the provincial cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, approved the donation of mobile clinics to AJK.
In addition, the cabinet also approved the donation of 6 clinics on wheels to Gilgit-Baltistan.
Maryam Nawaz had announced the initiative during a visit to Muzaffarabad ahead of the AJK 2026 elections, on the instruction of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif.
The initiative aims to bring medical facilities closer to communities in remote and backward areas of the region, where residents often face difficulties accessing basic healthcare.
