MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Star batter Babar Azam’s injury left Peshawar Zalmi fans concerned after he limped off the field during a practice session for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 10.

Babar Azam caused concern among Peshawar Zalmi supporters after he was seen limping off the field during a training session ahead of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 10.

According to reports, Babar was hit on the foot by a ball during Zalmi’s practice in Islamabad. A video showing him walking off the ground with a limp towards the dressing room quickly spread on social media, raising questions about his fitness just days before the tournament began.

So far, Peshawar Zalmi have not issued any official update about Babar’s condition.

PSL 10 kicked off on April 11, with defending champions Islamabad United facing Lahore Qalandars at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

The league will be played across four venues, Karachi, Lahore, Multan, and Rawalpindi,  with the final scheduled for May 18 at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium. A total of 34 matches will be played over 37 days.

Babar Azam, who captains Peshawar Zalmi, was recently left out of Pakistan’s T20I squad for the white-ball series in New Zealand. However, he did feature in the ODI squad and played in the three-match series, which Pakistan lost 3-0.

Yesterday, Islamabad United (IU) won the PSL X inaugural match, held after the stunning opening ceremony. The opponents for this match were the Lahore Qalandars, who played with great fervor.

Islamabad United earned an incredible 8-wicket victory while achieving the score set by Lahore Qalandars. Lahore Qalandars scored 139, batting first. Islamabad Unicted chased the score with much ease.

With two points after one game, Islamabad United leads the PSL X standings with an eight-wicket victory, while Lahore Qalandars sits at the bottom of the chart.
