MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): International Human Rights Day is being observed all over the world today, on the occasion of which a demonstration was organized by the Pasban-e-Hurriyat against the ongoing human rights violations in occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
Kashmiri protesters in Muzaffarabad marched “barefoot” on the main highway against Indian war crimes. This march aimed to draw the world’s attention to Kashmir. Citizens tried to awaken the international community by waving black flags against Indian military atrocities.
The protesters strongly protested against Indian brutality against humanity in occupied Kashmir. The demonstration was led by Chairman Hurriyat Guard Uzair Ahmed Ghazali, PPP leader Shaukat Javed Mir, Vice Chairman Usman Ali Hashim, and other leaders.
The protesters held banners demanding that the United Nations take notice of Indian terrorism. In addition, the Kashmiri protesters also held placards against Indian brutality. The protesters raised slogans like “Stop, stop, stop the atrocities in Kashmir”, “Release, release, release Kashmiri prisoners”.
The protesters who participated in the march also raised slogans like “Blood will stain, revolution will come”, “Indians, leave Kashmir, leave us”. Uzair Ahmed Ghazali said that human rights organizations should raise their voices against Indian war crimes.
He added that India is committing the worst crimes against humanity in Jammu and Kashmir, and thousands of Kashmiris are imprisoned in Indian jails. Uzair Ahmed Ghazali also stressed that civil liberties are being violated in occupied Kashmir through black laws.
People’s Party leader Shaukat Javed Mir said that human rights violations in Kashmir are a question mark for the United Nations. Usman Ali Hashim said that the world should play a role in restoring human rights in Kashmir.
Muhammad Yunus Mir stressed the need for Kashmir’s freedom and restoration of human rights, while Bilal Ahmed Farooqui said that the world should come forward against India.
