MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Azad Jammu and Kashmir Home Secretary Chaudhry Guftar Hussain has accused the banned Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) of sabotaging the peace and normal life in Azad Kashmir for the past 38 days.
Addressing a press conference along with the Secretary Elementary and Secondary Education, Qazi Inayat, on Tuesday, Guftar said that the politics of intimidation, blackmail, and propaganda is being spread under the guise of a public rights movement.
“The real objective of this organization is to fuel an anti-Pakistan narrative and chant slander against the Pakistani forces,” he said.
Explaining today’s incident in Rawalakot, the Secretary said that the armed members of the Action Committee opened fire on civilians and law enforcement personnel in Rawalakot.
He further stated that one security official was martyred, and another was injured, adding that legal action against those responsible would continue.
The home secretary further said that the operation against the Awami Action Committee miscreants will continue until all the roads are fully cleared across the state.
The officials further announced that the government is allowing the reopening of schools, colleges and universities across Azad Kashmir.
