KARACHI (Kashmir English): The prices of Solar Panels have started increasing once again across Pakistan.
The price of the panel has increased by Rs 10 per watt more than the previous price, i.e., the previous price of the panel has gone up from Rs 30 per watt to Rs 40 per watt.
Due to the increase in prices, the overall cost of solar systems has also increased. The price of a complete solar system has increased by Rs 2 lakh.
Through the new rates set up, the cost of a 5 kW on-grid system comes to Rs 650,000. Also, the cost of a 7 kW system comes to Rs 750,000.
Further, the cost of a 10 kW system comes up to Rs 1.1 lakh, the cost of a 12 kW system comes up to Rs 1.25 lakh, and the cost of a 15 kW system comes up to Rs 1.5 lakh.
Sources say that these prices are only for on-grid systems. Customers installing hybrid systems will have to pay extra for batteries.
Despite the rise in prices in the market, it has not reflected a fall in the demand for solar energy. Consumers are still attracted to solar system services because of the rise in electricity costs.
