ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): An important meeting of the Pakistan Peoples’ Party Parliamentary Party Azad Kashmir was held at Aiwan-e-Sadr, Islamabad on Wednesday.
President and Party chairman Asif Ali Zardari chaired the meeting and took important political decisions.
According to details, the meeting of the Pakistan Peoples’ Party Azad Kashmir Parliamentary Party was held under the chairmanship of President Asif Ali Zardari and attended by President PPP Azad Kashmir Chaudhry Yasin, Speaker Legislative Assembly Chaudhry Latif Akbar, and former President and Prime Minister Sardar Yaqoob Khan.
The meeting was also attended by ministers Mian Abdul Waheed, Qasim Majeed, Sardar Javed Yaqoob, Faisal Mumtaz Rathore, Sardar Zia-ul-Qamar, Bazil Naqvi, as well as Chaudhry Pervez Ashraf and Sardar Nabila Ayub.
According to sources, the current political situation in Azad Kashmir and other important matters were discussed in the meeting and the future political strategy was devised.
There was no word from Aiwan-e-Sadr or the Pakistan Peoples’ Party Azad Kashmir on the meeting, though the meeting is considered important in the context of ongoing political upheaval in AJK.
PPP part of Azad Kashmir government
Despite the Pakistan Peoples’ Party being part of the government in Azad Kashmir, complaints by PPP loyalists are common amid demands to leave the government.
According to sources, the inclusion of important personalities in the Pakistan Peoples’ Party is expected in the coming days.
