ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): President Asif Ali Zardari extended his heartfelt Eid-ul-Fitr greetings to the nation, saying that he wishes the people of Pakistan and the entire Muslim world a blessed Eid. He emphasised that this joyous occasion comes as a reward from Allah after a month of worship and blessings.

The president declared Eid-ul-Fitr to be a divine bestowing that acknowledges the steadfastness and commitment people exhibit while practicing fasting. Through observing Ramadan, people acquire vital lessons about tolerance and patience, together with devotion, which leads to service for the needy.

He promoted people to implement honesty and love together with sincerity as everyday life principles. He also reminded everyone to be mindful of the financial struggles of their fellow citizens and to give Zakat, charity, and Fitrana generously so that no one is left deprived. Eid, he added, also reinforces the importance of unity and solidarity.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also conveyed his warm Eid greetings to the nation. He said that Eid is a day of joy, gratitude, brotherhood, and compassion. Ramadan, he noted, teaches self-discipline, patience, and sacrifice.

The prime minister pointed out that Pakistan is currently facing threats from both internal and external enemies. He stressed the need to stay united against extremism, hatred, and sectarianism while working towards the country’s stability and security.

Shehbaz Sharif emphasised that it is a shared responsibility to strengthen the economy, society, and national unity. He assured that the government is making efforts towards economic recovery, law and order, and social stability.

He called on the nation to unite for the country’s progress and prosperity. Acknowledging the ongoing battle against terrorism, he paid tribute to the armed forces, particularly the officers and soldiers who have sacrificed their lives for peace. He expressed prayers for the highest ranks in the hereafter for all martyrs and extended solidarity with their families.
