ISLAMABAD/ MIRPUR (Kashmir English): President Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry has approved a 60-day special remission in prisoners sentences ahead of the Eid-ul-Adha.
The president granted remission to prisoners languishing in different jails of Azad Kashmir on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha, under Article 10 of the interim constitution of AJK, 1974.
The remission, however, would not be granted to those convicted of terrorism and other serious crimes.
The goodwill gesture by Azad Jammu Kashmir President Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry aims to provide relief to prisoners lodged in various AJK jails, ahead of the festival.
Eid-ul-Adha on June 7
Eid-ul-Adha will be celebrated across Pakistan on June 7. The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee officially announced that Eid-ul-Azha will be celebrated across Pakistan on Friday.
