ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Islamabad Police and other investigative agencies have prepared a preliminary report on the suicide blast outside Islamabad’s District Judicial Complex on Tuesday.
As per the initial report, the suicide bomber was residing in the Bajaur district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and arrived in Islamabad on Friday.
It further revealed that the attacker arrived in Islamabad’s Sector G-11 from Pirwadhai on a motorcycle. The preliminary report said that there was only one attacker who was wearing a chador.
On the other hand, the IG Islamabad, Ali Nasir Rizvi, said that up to 8 kilograms of explosives and ball bearings were used in the explosion.
A motorcycle and a vehicle are being considered suspicious, he said, adding that evidence is being collected through the backtracking of cameras.
Rizvi further added that teams of forensics, CTD, investigation, Safe City, and sensitive agencies are reviewing the evidence.
It should be noted that at least twelve killed, and 27 others were injured in a suicide bomb blast outside Islamabad’s G-11 district courts. A powerful explosion occurred at around 12:30 pm, the sound of which was heard far and wide.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi revealed that the suicide bomber had plans to go inside the Judicial Complex; however, when he did not get a chance, he targeted the police van.
Police say that a suicide bomber riding a motorcycle approached a police vehicle and blew himself up. The explosion set fire to nearby vehicles, while the suicide bomber’s body parts flew inside the courthouse.
