PPP Delegation Presents 16-Point Charter of Demands to PM Rathore

MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): A Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) delegation from Constituency-7 led by candidate Shoukat Javed Mir and comprising party leaders and local government representatives presented a 16-point charter of demands to Prime Minister Faisal Mumtaz Rathore, highlighting key issues of the constituency.

The demands included a mega tunnel project, a separate assembly seat, construction of the Barthwar Gali–Leepa Bypass Road, a 50-bed hospital, establishment of offices for government departments and local councils, construction of press clubs in Hattian Bala and Leepa, creation of a Development Authority, and provision of interest-free loans for youth.

The demands also included addressing teacher shortages and educational facilities, improving health centres, taking up the opening of the Taitwal route with the federal government, and allocation of funds for protection-bunkers.

The delegation congratulated the Prime Minister and expressed full confidence in the leadership of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, President Asif Ali Zardari, Faryal Talpur and others.

They reaffirmed their commitment to contribute actively to ensure the party’s success in the upcoming general elections.

Speaking on the occasion, Prime Minister Faisal Mumtaz Rathore said that the ideological workers of the Pakistan Peoples’ Party are the party’s true asset.

“Protecting the rights and dignity of the party workers is the government’s priority,” he said.

PPP hopes victory in general elections

He expressed confidence that the PPP would achieve a landslide victory in the next general elections and stated that uplift of underdeveloped areas is among the government’s foremost priorities.

The Prime Minister also highlighted the government’s initiatives including issuance of the Sehat Card, steps being taken to secure scheduled status for the Bank of Kashmir, and establishment of Danish Schools.

He also underscored the exemplary working relationship with the Government of Pakistan. He also praised Assembly candidate Shoukat Javed Mir for his political services and competence.

The meeting also congratulated the Pakistan Armed Forces on their historic success in operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos, led by Field Marshal Asim Munir.

The meeting concluded with prayers for the security of Pakistan, the freedom of Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir, and the early recovery of President Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry and former Prime Minister Chaudhry Abdul Majeed.

The delegation also invited the Prime Minister to visit the Leepa Valley and Pando Sector, which he gladly accepted.
