ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The Manifesto Committee of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), held a meeting on Wednesday at the party secretariat in Islamabad’s F-10 sector, chaired by PPP AJK President Chaudhry Muhammad Yasin.
According to a press release issued by the party spokesperson, the meeting reviewed draft recommendations for the party’s upcoming manifesto.
The meeting also discussed proposals to align it with the aspirations of the people and the vision of PPP leadership, President Asif Ali Zardari, Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, and In-Charge of Kashmir Affairs Faryal Talpur.
Speaking on the occasion, Chaudhry Yasin reaffirmed that the PPP is a party of the people and that its movement must remain grounded in public aspirations. He emphasized that “Kashmir’s freedom is the top priority,” recalling that the foundation of the PPP was laid on the Kashmir cause.
“The leader of the people, former Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Shaheed, pledged to fight for Kashmir, and ‘Roti, Kapra, aur Makan’ remains the enduring slogan of the Pakistan People’s Party,” Yasin said.
He added that the new manifesto will include provisions for the resettlement and protection of the rights of Jammu and Kashmir refugees.
The meeting was attended by members of the Manifesto Committee, Speaker of the Assembly Chaudhry Latif Akbar, Central Secretary General and Minister Local Government Raja Faisal Mumtaz Rathore, Minister Information Technology Board Sardar Zia Al-Qamar, President Women’s Department and Advisor to the Government Nabila Ayub, Former Advisor Sardar Amjad Yousaf, Additional Secretary Information Syed Azadar Hussain Shah, and Chairman PSF Sardar Fawzia.
