PMD predicts rain, thunderstorms across country from weekend

ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) on Friday predicted rain and thunderstorms with isolated hailstorms in upper and upper/central parts of Pakistan from the weekend, with occasional gaps.

In a weather advisory, the Met office said that a westerly wave is likely to enter the upper parts of the country from Saturday and likely to persist till October 15.

As per the weather forecast, heavy rainfall is expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and Murree on October 10, 11, 13, and 14 with occasional gaps.

A similar weather pattern was also predicted for Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Wazirabad, Lahore, Kasur, Sheikhupura, Sialkot, Narowal, Mianwali, Khushab, Bhakkar, Sargodha, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, and Faisalabad.

“However Rain-windstorm/thunderstorm (isolated hailstorm) is expected in Multan, Layyah, DG Khan, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Sahiwal, Okara, Pak Pattan and Khanewal on October 10, 11 and 13.”
