ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is scheduled to travel to Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, on August 31 to participate in a three-day official trip, according to media reports.
PM Shehbaz will attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Council of Heads of State summit being held from August 31 to September 1.
As per reports, many prominent international dignitaries, including Russia’s President Vladimir Putin, China’s President Xi Jinping, and Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian, among others, will participate.
Moreover, PM Shehbaz will conduct bilateral engagements in Kyrgyzstan on September 2.
Once the SCO summit concludes in Bishkek, Pakistan is set to take charge as the rotating head of the organisation for a period of one year.
According to reports, Pakistan will hold the SCO Council of Heads of State summit in Islamabad in 2027.
