BHIMBER (Kashmir English): Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwar-ul-Haq (PM AJK) warns India on Monday in Bhimber to end its repression in Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to the Kashmir cause.
He also highlighted his government’s development initiatives, including subsidies and social welfare programmes.
Speaking on Monday at the inauguration of the Bhimber Electrical Operation Division in Bhimber city, Haq cautioned that if India persists with its policies of state repression and terrorism, the youth of AJK may be left with no choice but to cross the Line of Control (LoC).
Reaffirming Pakistan’s steadfast support for the Kashmir cause, he referenced Army Chief General Asim Munir’s remarks, emphasising that Pakistan has already fought three wars for Kashmir and remains ready to continue the struggle for its freedom. He expressed confidence that Kashmir’s liberation is imminent and that Pakistan will soon be complete.
Beyond the Kashmir issue, Haq also spoke about his government’s development initiatives, including subsidies on electricity and flour, as well as the launch of the Social Protection Welfare Programme to assist the underprivileged. He underscored the necessity of upholding the constitution and the rule of law, ensuring their supremacy.
Senior ministers, government representatives, and other notable visitors attended the occasion.
On Kashmir Solidarity Day, observed on February 5th of each year, Pakistan reaffirms its unwavering support for the right to self-determination of the Kashmiri people as stipulated in UN resolutions. Throughout Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir, the day is marked with protests, human chains and other events to raise awareness of Indian atrocities in IIOJK. On the other hand, banners and billboards draw attention to the suffering of Kashmiri martyrs. There are marches around the country and a special meeting of the AJK Legislative Assembly. Pakistan’s commitment to aiding Kashmiris in their legitimate struggle for independence is symbolised by the day.
