MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Chaudhry Anwar ul Haq has reviewed the progress and pending payments related to development sector.
He chaired a high-level meeting which was attended by Principal Secretary and Secretaries of different departments.
The secretaries gave a comprehensive briefing to the PM regarding the current status of development projects within their domain.
Speaking on the occasion, the Prime Minister directed the authorities concerned to consolidate all the pending payments owed to development sector including road infrastructure, local government, physical planning and housing, electricity, public health, education and tourism.
He ordered that a report in this regard be submitted within three days. The PM asked the relevant authorities to ensure timely completion of development projects without compromising on the quality of work.
“Delay in project completion results in cost increases, placing extra burden on the government exchequer,” he added.
Despite facing financial constraints, the PM said, the government didn’t allow it to derail or hamper the progress.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the public interest projects must receive focused attention to ensure that these projects effectively serve the public good.
Govt to ensure development in AJK
He said that despite offering significant subsidies on electricity and wheat flour, the government ensured continuity in the process of construction and development in Azad Kashmir.
