WASHINGTON (Kashmir English): The Trump administration has issued US visas to Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, and other Iranian officials.

A US television network reported this, citing a spokesperson for the US State Department.

President Pezeshkian and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi intend to travel to New York to attend the United Nations General Assembly session.

According to the US broadcaster, visas have been approved for the key Iranian delegation and essential staff; however, the number of officials included in the delegation is lower than last year.

The session of the 81st General Assembly begins in New York on Friday and will continue until September 28.

A State Department official stated that obligations as the host country have been fulfilled, and Iranian officials will be able to attend the UN General Assembly’s high-level week; however, the visit will be subject to travel restrictions and specific limitations.

Meanwhile, the US has refused to grant a visa to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to attend the General Assembly.
