Peshawar Zalmi win toss, to bowl first in PSL 2026 title clash

LAHORE (Kashmir English):  Peshawar Zalmi will bowl first after it won the toss in the final of PSL 2026 title clash at the Gaddafi Stadium here on Sunday evening.

On Friday, in the PSL 2026 Eliminator 2, the Hyderabad Kingsmen secured a dramatic 2-run victory over Islamabad United at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.

Playing first, Hyderabad Kingsmen secured 186/5 as Usman Khan led the charge with an unbeaten 61 off 30 balls, supported by a crucial 101-run partnership with Kusal Perera (37).

Islamabad United could score only 184/7 despite useful contributions from Mark Chapman (43) and Muhammad Akhlaq (44). In the final over, Hunain Shah emerged as the hero for Kingsmen, defending just 6 runs in the 20th over by conceding only three.

This marks a historic moment for Hyderabad, playing in their first-ever final in their debut season.

Spectators will be allowed into the stadium for the final, despite earlier, strict energy-saving measures that had seen the tournament played behind closed doors.

A colourful closing ceremony ahead of the final has been planned, featuring performances by renowned singers, while a spectacular fireworks display will form a key part of the event.

Atif Aslam, Ali Azmat, Arif Lohar, Aima Baig and the Sabri Sisters will perform at the ceremony.

PSL 2026 prize money

According to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the prize money for the winning team is 500,000 dollars, while the prize money for the runner-up is 200,000 dollars.

According to the PCB, for the first time in the history of the PSL, the winning team will be given a separate prize money of 500,000 dollars. The PCB says that the runner-up team of the PSL will also get an additional prize money of 300,000 dollars.

The franchise that strives for the best player development of the PSL will also get 200,000 dollars.

PSL final match officials

The match officials for the PSL final have also been announced.

Ahsan Raza and Christopher Gaffney will be the on-field umpires, Alexander Wharf will be the third, while Asif Yaqoob will be the fourth umpire. Roshan Mahanama will officiate as the match referee in the PSL 11 final.
