ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Former President and Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Member Legislative Assembly and Parliamentary Leader of Pakistan Peoples’ Party, Sardar Yaqoob Khan has said that peace in South Asia is not possible without the just resolution of the Kashmir issue.

He said Kashmiris have made immense sacrifices for the Kashmir freedom movement which can never be forgotten.

Kashmiris will also see freedom

“The day is not far when Kashmiris will also see the rising sun of freedom.”

He expressed these views while talking to various public delegations. He further said that Kashmir has its own identity and character that will not be allowed to disappear under any circumstances.

India was trying to harm the Kashmiri movement through negative propaganda, but the Modi government has been disgraced all over the world.

He said that the Kashmir freedom movement and the blood of millions of Kashmiri martyrs will never go in vein.

He added that according to the resolutions of the United Nations, Kashmiris should be given their right, the right to self-determination, so that they could decide their future.

He said that the Kashmiris of occupied Kashmir are continuing the Kashmir freedom movement despite enduring the inhuman atrocities of the Modi government. A conspiracy was hatched to suppress the voice of Kashmiris by imposing a lockdown.

After failing in this, the Modi government is now engaged in a sinister conspiracy to settle Hindus in occupied Kashmir and turn Muslims into a minority, he said further.

He said voice of Kashmiris cannot be suppressed by high-handed tactics. Kashmiris have made countless sacrifices for the movement. Kashmiris are still ready to repeat the sacrifices of their ancestors.

He said that those who are destroying the identity of Kashmiris should know that this struggle will continue till the last Kashmiri.

He urged the United Nations to immediately take notice of the ongoing inhumane atrocities in occupied Kashmir and play its role in giving Kashmiris their right to self-determination so that Kashmiris can also breathe a sigh of freedom.
