BEIJING (Kashmir English): A pet parrot in China has astounded the world with its extraordinary intellect as he secured a Guinness World Record for the fastest recognition of colours.
During the attempt, parrot named Xiaogui identified and arranged ten different colours in only 33.5 seconds, securing a place in the record books as the most intelligent parrot globally.
In the challenge, Xiaogui picked up balls of different colours and placed them into boxes of the corresponding colour.
Parrot’s surprise for judges
At one point, Xiaogui mistakenly dropped a dark pink ball into a light pink box but corrected the error immediately in a surprise to the judges.
Guinness World Records has officially recognised the parrot as the fastest parrot in colour recognition worldwide.
According to Feng, owner of the pet, the training began when he observed Xiaogui’s interest in playing with coloured balls.
This talent became the foundation for gradually teaching the bird how to recognise and sort colours.
