BAGH (Kashmir English): A private school in Bagh organised a heartfelt Palestine solidarity event to express unity with the people of Palestine as part of a growing wave of support across Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
The ceremony saw participation from students and teachers who stood together to condemn Israeli aggression and show their unwavering support for Palestinians.
Children from the school held placards bearing powerful messages in favour of Palestine, calling for justice and peace. The young participants stood in silence at times and chanted in unison at others, reflecting both sorrow and strength in their voices.
The atmosphere was charged with emotion as students displayed a deep understanding of the humanitarian crisis unfolding in Gaza and other occupied territories.
Deputy Mayor of the Municipal Corporation, Syed Afraz Gardezi, addressed the gathering and strongly condemned the ongoing Israeli brutality.
He praised the students and school staff for taking the initiative and standing with the oppressed. In his speech, he emphasised the importance of raising voices for those who are suffering and reminded the audience that showing solidarity is a moral responsibility.
Public sentiment in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) maintains its strong backing for Palestine, as displayed through the ceremonial event.
Several towns and cities in the region have also launched rallies and social media initiatives, as well as public demonstrations, which express Kashmir’s full support for Palestine.
Despite its limited size the event delivered a powerful message to the world. This event demonstrated that the desire to support each other starts by connecting to the youth through school facilities which provide both academic and moral and social development.
These solidarity actions serve as crucial tools for creating awareness along with compassion development, particularly among young people who possess the capability to transform future scenarios through empathy and determination.
