ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Pakistanis could be in for another extended break with a potential four-day holiday expected in the first week of September 2025.
According to the projection of the Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO), the moon of Rabi Ul Awwal is likely to be sighted on August 24.
If confirmed, Eid Milad-un-Nabi (SAWW), the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (SAWW), will be observed on Thursday, September 5, which would be declared a public holiday.
Following this Defence Day on Friday, September 6, may also be observed as a national holiday, commemorating the sacrifices of the Pakistan Armed Forces.
With the regular weekend falling on Saturday and Sunday (September 7-8), the sequence could create an unbroken four-day holiday from September 5 to 8, providing the citizens with an excellent opportunity to relax and spend time with family.
However, official confirmation regarding the public holidays will depend on the government’s announcement closure to the dates
