DUBAI (Kashmir English): The International Cricket Council (ICC) has released the latest world rankings for players, in which Pakistan’s young and talented cricketers have achieved prominent positions through outstanding performances.
Saim Ayub secured first position in world rankings
The biggest honour in these rankings went to Pakistan’s Saim Ayub, who secured the first position in the T20 format, leaving all all-rounders behind.
Saim Ayub’s success is not only the fruit of his individual hard work but also a reflection of the bright future of Pakistan cricket.
Pakistan’s Saud Shakeel has moved up one spot to enter the top 10 batters in the world and is now at number nine.
In the list of Test batters, England’s Joe Root remains at number one, while New Zealand’s Kane Williamson is second and Australia’s Steve Smith is third.
Saud Shakeel’s consistently improved performance has earned him a stable position globally.
In the Test bowlers’ rankings, Australia’s Mitchell Starc has moved up one spot to second place, while Pakistan’s spinner Nauman Ali is in fourth position, which is a positive development for the national team.
In this list, Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has managed to retain his first position. In ODI cricket batting rankings, India’s Rohit Sharma remains at number one, while Virat Kohli is at number two.
Pakistan’s former captain Babar Azam remains at number six in this list, which, although not a top position, still counts him among world-class batters.
In the T20 batters’ rankings, Pakistan’s Sahibzada Farhan has dropped one spot to sixth place. India’s Abhishek Sharma has retained the first position, while his compatriot Tilak Varma has moved up two spots to fourth place.
Babar Azam has dropped one spot to 31st in the T20 batters’ rankings, which could be a cause for concern for his fans.
In the T20 bowlers’ rankings, India’s Varun Chakravarthy remains at number one, while Pakistan’s Abrar Ahmed is in fourth position.
Saim Ayub’s first position in T20 all-rounders is the biggest good news for Pakistan, while Mohammad Nawaz remains at fifth place.
