ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Pakistan on Wednesday urged all parties in the US-Iran conflict to exercise restraint and refrain from any actions that may further undermine regional peace and stability after both countries exchanged overnight strikes.
In a statement, the Foreign Office spokesperson expressed its deep concern over the escalation in tensions in the Middle East, saying that “a renewed conflict is in no one’s interest”.
“There is no alternative to continued engagement, dialogue, and diplomacy to achieve the shared goal of peace in the region,” it stated.
Pakistan urges all sides to uphold their respective commitments under the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), the Foreign Office spokesperson said, adding that the “Islamabad MoU remains an enduring foundation for understanding, mutual respect, and shared prosperity for the region and beyond”.
“Pakistan remains ready to continue playing its role in this regard.”
