ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): A 248-member Pakistani contingent will participate in 24 different disciplines in the upcoming 20th Asian Games, set to be held in Aichi and Nagoya, Japan, later this month.
According to the Secretary of the Pakistan Olympic Association (POA), Senior Vice President Fatima Lakhani has been appointed Chief of Mission for the Pakistan contingent.
The size of the national contingent was finalised during a meeting held with officials of the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB).
As per the details, the sports board will bear the expenses of only 94 members of the contingent, while the remaining athletes will travel to Japan on their own or with the assistance of the federations.
The Asian Games are scheduled to be held from September 19 to October 4, 2026. The competition will be held across 43 sports featuring 469 medal events.
