KARACHI (Kashmir English): The government is considering to launch a ferry service for the pilgrims intending to go to Iraq.

According to official sources, the government moves to explore a new travel option.

According to reports, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has directed authorities to prepare a feasibility study for the service from Karachi into Iraq.

Proposed ferry service

The proposed service is expected to provide pilgrims an alternative and potentially more accessible route for travel.

During his visit to the Pakistan Coast Guards headquarters in Karachi, Naqvi also paid tribute to martyrs by laying a wreath at the memorial.

Mohsin Naqvi further instructed officials to continue strict operation against drug trafficking and smuggling, emphasizing that all available resources should be utilized to curb illegal activities.

The proposed ferry service, if launched, is likely to ease travel for thousands of pilgrims who go to Iraq each year.
