ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): A senior defence delegation from Belarus visited the Air Headquarters in Islamabad, according to a statement by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Thursday.
The delegation was led by Major General Andrei Yevgenyevich Lukyanovich, who is the Commander of the Belarusian Air Force and Air Defence.
On arrival, he was welcomed with a guard of honour by a well-turned-out contingent of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF).
During the visit, both sides held detailed talks focused on military cooperation, particularly in the area of air force collaboration.
They reaffirmed their commitment to deepening the already strong bilateral relationship.
According to ISPR, both air forces agreed to keep regular and close contact moving forward.
The Chief of Air Staff appreciated the strong defence ties between Pakistan and Belarus and reiterated that the PAF would continue to fully support efforts to strengthen the Belarusian Air Force.
“The meeting covered a wide range of topics related to air power and military collaboration, with both sides reaffirming their commitment to strengthening long-standing bilateral ties. They agreed to maintain continuous engagement between their respective Air Forces, fostering cooperation on multiple fronts, including training, technological development, and operational capacity building,” the statement read.
Major General Lukyanovich thanked the PAF for its warm hospitality and expressed keen interest in learning from Pakistan’s operational experience. He also praised the professionalism and efficiency of the Pakistan Air Force.
“I sincerely appreciate the hospitality extended to me and look forward to learning from the Pakistan Air Force’s rich operational experience, especially in wartime conditions,” said Lukyanovich.
The Belarusian commander requested structured training programmes for his personnel and showed eagerness to build on shared military knowledge.
“The PAF is committed to extending full support for both basic and tactical-level training of pilots and maintenance crews to strengthen the Belarus Air Force,” the Chief of the Air Staff assured, “We aim to enhance collaboration through exchange programs, with a focus on professional development.”
He also invited the Air Chief to participate in upcoming defence events scheduled to take place in Belarus.
