ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): In a move to enhance the overall performance of the Islamabad police, the federal government has decided to provide police officers with special commando training by the Pakistan Army.
According to the details, a formal request has been made to the Pakistan Army to transfer two Pakistan Army Majors and 16 SSG commandos. Pakistan Army officers will be posted to vacant posts in the Federal Police, whereas 10 SSG commandos will be posted to the National Police Academy.
The National Police Academy will receive ten SSG commandos who will perform operational and training duties. The document states that SSG personnel will train Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) who are currently in training.
The capital security and policing challenges have grown, so authorities need to improve law enforcement capabilities through their current operations.
