ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): As the tensions between Pakistan and India escalate after the Pahalgam attack, the Pakistan Army has started military exercises in different areas along the border to ensure preparedness to counter Indian aggression.

According to the security sources, small and large modern weapons, including tanks, artillery, and infantry, participated in the war drills, which are being conducted in Sialkot, Narowal, Zafarwal, Shakargarh, and other areas.

The Pakistan Army’s combat readiness had intensified in view of India’s false flag operation and the prevailing border tension.

Military officials emphasised that soldiers of the Pakistan Army had remained fully committed to defending the homeland and had shown no hesitation in offering any sacrifice for the nation’s security.

Security sources stated that the exercises had reflected the complete readiness and unwavering determination of the Pakistan Army to confront any form of aggression.

Earlier, the Pakistan Army effectively responded to the ceasefire violation by Indian forces, who resorted to unprovoked firing at the Line of Control (LoC) between the night of April 29 and 30.

The cross-border firing by India with unprovoked small arms fire took place in the Kiani and Mandal sectors, security sources said.

However, the Pakistan Army retaliated strongly and gave a befitting reply to the Indian forces, after which Indian soldiers ceased their firing, sources said.

Meanwhile, there are reports of the destruction of multiple enemy posts due to the effective response of the Pakistan Army, with sources claiming the destruction of India’s Chakputra Post.
