Pakistan Army evacuates vehicles stuck in Kotli’s Pir Nasoora due to snowfall

KOTLI (Kashmir English): Pakistan Army conducted a major rescue and evacuation operation in Kotli’s Nakyal area, where several vehicles were stuck due to heavy snowfall.

As per the details, several families were stranded due to the blockage on Kotli-Nakyal Road near Pir Nasoora.

Responding quickly, the troops reached the spot to evacuate families and provided them with food, drinking water, warm tea, juices, and petrol for their vehicles.

The armed personnel also met Assistant Commissioner Nakyal at Pir Nasoora and assisted the government’s rescue department in the operation.

The sources said that the troops provided food to 10 individuals traveling from Nakyal to Lahore, as their vehicle was stuck in the snow. Similarly, two vehicles were stuck due to an empty fuel tank; they were provided with five litres of petrol each, with food and juices for families.

All other vehicles were evacuated promptly, and families were rescued to avoid any untoward situation.

Later, the Highway Department of Azad Kashmir, with the army’s assistance, cleared the Kotli-Nakyal road after the snowfall stopped.
