Over 800 tourists stranded in Ratti Gali rescued, PM Azad Kashmir

MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Chaudhry Anwar ul Haq has stated that over 800 tourists stranded in the tourist spot of Ratti Gali in Neelum Valley, AJK have been safely moved to Neelum Dawarian after a successful rescue operation.

This was a major rescue operation in the history of Azad Kashmir, in which SDMA, district administration, Pakistan Army, and police played a pivotal role.

The PM stated that the Azad Kashmir government has made complete arrangements for the accommodation and food of the tourists, while their vehicles, which are stuck in Ratti Gali, will be retrieved and handed over to their owners by today evening.

He said that all institutions deserve praise for the successful rescue operation. He further added that to improve timely response in emergency situations, the government has purchased four modern drones worth eight crore rupees, which are capable of lifting up to one hundred kilograms of weight and will play an important role in future rescue and relief operations.

Ratti Gali Lake is an alpine glacial lake which is located in Neelum Valley of Azad Kashmir, Pakistan. The lake is located at an altitude of 3,683 metres. The lake is fed by the surrounding glacier waters of the mountains.
