NEW DELHI (Kashmir English): The monsoon session of the Indian Parliament began with severe uproar as opposition members demanded a detailed discussion on the Pahalgam attack and Operation Sindoor, leading to pandemonium and adjournment of both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha sessions within minutes of their opening.

According to Kashmir Media Service, opposition parties led by Congress demanded an immediate response from the Modi government on the situation in occupied Jammu and Kashmir and the results of Operation Sindoor.

Ruckus in Indian parliament

As soon as the proceedings of the sessions began, members of the opposition benches chanted slogans and demanded the suspension of other proceedings for a discussion on the issue of occupied Jammu and Kashmir, after which the proceedings of both houses were adjourned until noon.

Congress is expected to seek answers from the Modi government on several related matters, including US President Donald Trump’s claim of mediating a ceasefire between India and Pakistan in May.

Earlier, Prime Minister Modi, in a brief statement to the media before the session began, said that Operation Sindoor had achieved its objectives, which included destroying the homes of those behind the Pahalgam attack within 22 minutes.

He said that this operation demonstrated India’s military capability and drew global attention to the matter.
