ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Pakistan has shared more details of Pakistan’s counter-offensive, Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos, revealing the areas where the Indian Air Force (IAF) jets were downed during the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) actions.
Several Indian Air Force fighter jets crashed in different areas, in which various pilots got injured and went missing, state-run PTV News reported, citing security sources.
According to the sources, one of the IAF fighter jets crashed in Anantnag city of the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), with security sources claiming that the pilot was reportedly killed. The ejection seat was later recovered in the Kokernag area, confirming the aircraft’s destruction.
The second IAF jet crashed in Pampore or Pulwama district in Indian occupied Kashmir, and its pilots were shifted to Srinagar hospital in critical condition.
Another fighter jet crashed in the Panthiyal or Ramsoo area of Ramban district, security sources said, adding that the pilot of this plane, Flying Officer Iqbal Singh, was shifted to Army Hospital Udhampur in an injured condition.
Another plane crashed in agricultural fields of Bharda Kalan, Akhnoor Tehsil, security sources said. Both ejected pilots were injured and rushed to Akhnoor Military Hospital.
In addition that, an Indian Air Force plane also crashed in the Bathinda district of India’s Punjab state, the sources added. An Indian Heron Remote Piloted Vehicle (RPV) was shot down 13 nautical miles east of Jammu city, security sources said.
Defense analysts are calling the operation a “tactical masterstroke” by the PAF, revealing critical vulnerabilities in India’s air strategy. “The consistent failures and crashes reflect not just technical gaps but a fundamental breakdown in operational planning by the IAF,” said a senior military expert.
Indian side has yet to issue a comprehensive statement on the extent of the losses, but the sequence of incidents has already raised alarms in New Delhi.
