RAWALPINDI (Kashmir English): One security personnel was martyred, while 19 Indian-sponsored terrorists were killed in separate intelligence-based operations (IBOs) across Balochistan, the military’s media wing said on Wednesday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the security forces received the presence of multiple hideouts of Fitna Al Khawarij and Fitna Al Hindustan in the general area of Shaban, Quetta district.
Following the information, troops launched a clearance operation, effectively engaging and clearing multiple terrorist hideouts, on September 21, which is still ongoing.
Following an intense exchange of fire, 13 terrorists have been killed so far, the ISPR said, adding that weapons, ammunition, and explosives were also recovered from the cleared hideouts.
“The clearance operation will continue until the complete neutralization of the threat in the area,” it said.
In separate engagements, security forces conducted pre-emptive intelligence-based operations in Kech and Quetta West districts on September 22 and 23, killing 6 terrorists.
During the operations, troops also recovered weapons and ammunition. In the exchange of fire, Subedar Muhammad Jamil, aged 39, resident of Taunsa Sharif, embraced shahadat.
“The relentless counter-terrorism campaign under the vision of “Azm-e-Istehkam,” as approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, will continue at full pace.”
“Security Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies remain committed to eliminating the menace of foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country,” the statement concluded.
