WASHINGTON (Kashmir English): Crude oil prices rose slightly in global markets amid uncertainty over the opening of the Strait of Hormuz.

Oil prices rose in Asia on Monday morning, according to media reports.

Brent crude rose more than 1 percent to above $84 a barrel, while US crude also rose more than 1 percent.

The future of the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most important waterways, is still unclear.

Iran says an agreement with Oman to define new shipping routes is in the final stages, but the US still has to meet other conditions.
