MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Chaudhry Anwarul Haq has said that October 27 is a black day for the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
On that day, in 1947, India, violating the principles of the partition of the subcontinent, landed its troops in Kashmir and occupied a part against the wishes of the people.
India claimed Jammu and Kashmir based on the so-called Treaty of Accession to India, which was rejected by the United Nations.
The people of the state of Jammu and Kashmir have never accepted India’s illegal and oppressive occupation and the struggle against it has been going on to date.
He said that Kashmiris living on both sides of the ceasefire line and around the world observe October 27 as Black Day and protest vigorously against India’s usurpation of the occupation.
India has been committing serious human rights violations in occupied Jammu and Kashmir for the past 77 years.
In November 1947, Indian forces, Dogra forces, RSS, and Akali Dal terrorists martyred around 250,000 Jammu Muslims and forced millions of people to migrate.
In 1965 and 1971, due to the atrocities in occupied Kashmir, the people there migrated to Azad Kashmir and Pakistan.
More than 96,000 civilians have been martyred since 1989. The lives, property, honor, and sanctity of the Muslims of occupied Kashmir are not safe.
Chaudhry Anwarul Haq said that the struggle of the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir is for the right to self-determination, and this right has been given to the Kashmiri people in the resolutions of the United Nations.
India itself approached the United Nations in 1948 and now not only refuses to grant this right but also considers Kashmir as its integral part.
The Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir said that India violated international law and Security Council resolutions on Kashmir by changing the special status of occupied Jammu and Kashmir on August 5, 2019.
People are being brought from India to change the demographic structure of occupied Kashmir. People from India are being given priority in government jobs.
All Hurriyat leadership, Human rights activists, and independent journalists are being kept in chains. There is a complete ban on expression of opinion, assembly, writing, and speech in occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
The Prime Minister paid tribute to the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir and said that India’s oppression and cruelty could not cool the spirit of freedom of the people of occupied Kashmir.
He called on the international community and the United Nations to implement the United Nations resolutions regarding Kashmir.
The PM of Azad Kashmir said that the time is not far when occupied Kashmir will be free from the usurping occupation of India and the entire state of Jammu and Kashmir will be part of Pakistan.
