ABU DHABI (Kashmir English): The authorities from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have declared that this year’s Eid al-Fitr prayers will take place in mosques only because they will not allow people to gather in outdoor spaces.
The officials made this decision to protect public safety while preserving the sacredness of Eid celebrations. The authorities confirmed that all mosques throughout the UAE have achieved complete readiness to serve worshippers according to established health and safety protocols.
The public has been asked to follow the instructions that the relevant authorities issued because they will help maintain a safe and organized holiday celebration.
The UAE and Saudi Arabia will conduct meetings today to establish the time for Eid al-Fitr moon sighting.
Pakistani citizens to skip the long immigration process
Earlier, the United Arab Emirates and Pakistan had agreed to sign a formal agreement on pre-immigration clearance for Pakistani citizens traveling to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
According to the Interior Ministry, after the signing of the agreement, Pakistani citizens will not have to go through a lengthy immigration process upon arrival in the UAE.
This decision was taken in a meeting between Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and a UAE delegation led by Director General of Customs and Port Security Ahmed bin Lahj Al-Falasi.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said that the immigration process of passengers will be completed in Pakistan before travel.
He said that after the implementation of this system, Pakistani citizens will be able to leave the airport directly, like passengers of domestic flights, upon arrival in the UAE.
The Interior Minister said that this system will be introduced as a pilot project, the first phase of which will start from Karachi; however, the start date was not given.
Mohsin Naqvi expressed hope that the new system will facilitate travel and improve the overall travel experience.
The UAE delegation termed the initiative as beneficial for both countries and assured cooperation in its implementation.
According to the statement, the relevant institutions will maintain mutual coordination to finalize the administrative and technical aspects of the pilot project.
