SRINAGAR (Kashmir English): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), authorities have once again intensified their campaign of confiscating properties of local residents in different parts of the territory under black laws.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Indian police in Poonch district attached seven marlas of land belonging to Mohammad Azam, a resident of Chapriyan in Mandi tehsil, branding him a “proclaimed offender.”

The attachment was carried out under Section 88 of the Criminal Procedure Code.

Earlier, police sealed a two-storey house belonging to Gulzar Ahmad Dar at Kharbat Pora in Ratnipora area of Pulwama district under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).

Officials announced that the property cannot be sold, rented or transferred, warning of strict action against violators.

Seizure of Kashmiris’ houses

Observers note that the Modi regime has accelerated the seizure of Kashmiris’ houses, lands, and businesses after August 5, 2019, as part of its larger plan to dispossess the local population and alter the demography of the occupied territory.
