Mobile internet to stay suspended in Balochistan on September 6

QUETTA (Kashmir English): The Balochistan government has decided to suspend mobile internet services across the province on September 5 and 6.

The Balochistan Home Department has issued a formal notification in this regard.

According to the notification, this decision has been taken in view of maintaining law and order and possible security concerns.

The ban will be imposed in sensitive districts, including Quetta, where there is a risk of spreading rumors or incitement through social media.

The Home Department says that the purpose of the shutdown of mobile internet is to prevent any possible untoward incident and ensure the safety of the public.

The suspension of service will be on mobile data only, while broadband and Wi-Fi services will continue as usual.

According to officials, the situation is being continuously reviewed, and services will be restored when the situation improves.

According to the notification, PTCL and NTC internet wireless services will remain closed in Quetta, Sibi, Mastung, Khuzdar, and Nushki.
