BAGH (Kashmir Digital): Police have arrested two men in a rape case involving a 14-year-old schoolgirl in the jurisdiction of Sahlian Police Station in AJK’s Bagh district, a police spokesperson said on Saturday.

According to the police, the girl, an eighth-grade student at Red Foundation School Sahlian, went missing from her home on October 14 afternoon.

“Her family searched for her before receiving a call from the school the following morning informing them that she had returned but appeared unwell,” police said.

Later, the girl’s father reached the school and informed police, the spokesperson said. SHO Sahlian Rafaqat Abbasi and his team arrived and recorded details of the incident.

As per the initial investigation, the girl was first taken to an isolated location by her cousin Kashan Abbasi, where he sexually assaulted her and abandoned her there.

When her condition improved a little, she went to a nearby cattle pen and sought help, where another man, named Muzammil Hussain, allegedly assaulted her and kept her overnight before releasing her the following morning, according to the police.

Following the complaint, police registered a case and arrested both suspects.

SSP Bagh Khawaja Amiruddin has formed a team led by SDPO Dhirkot Raja Ansar Sajjad, SHO Sahlian Police Station Rafaqat Abbasi, and other investigation officers to conduct an investigation and bring the accused to justice, in accordance with the law, the police spokesperson stated.
