NEW YORK (Kashmir English): Meta has brought its Muse personal AI agent directly to Instagram, allowing users to share content with the artificial intelligence tool and interact with it while browsing the social media platform.
The move gives Instagram users a more direct way to use Meta’s AI capabilities without having to open a separate chatbot. Users can share posts, Reels and other content with Muse and ask questions or request assistance based on what they are viewing.
What can Meta Muse do?
Muse is designed to help users find content, answer questions and complete a range of tasks across Meta’s platforms.
Users can connect Muse to their Instagram account through Accounts Center, allowing the AI to access relevant information such as saved posts, messages and feed content.
This means users can search through their own Instagram activity by simply asking Muse. For example, a user could ask the AI to find a recipe they saved several months ago instead of manually scrolling through their saved posts.
Muse can also handle more detailed requests, assist with creative tasks, answer questions and provide help with various digital activities.
According to Meta’s approach, the AI can also use information from users’ interactions over time to better understand their preferences and provide more personalised assistance.
Why is Muse being added to Instagram’s share button?
Meta has integrated Muse into Instagram’s sharing menu to make AI assistance more accessible while users browse content.
When viewing an Instagram post or Reel, users can use the Muse option to share the content directly with the AI. They can then ask questions about the post, request a summary or seek additional help based on the shared content.
The integration eliminates the need to leave Instagram and open a separate AI application whenever users want assistance with something they encounter on the platform.
The feature is part of Meta’s broader strategy to integrate AI more deeply into its social media and messaging services, including Instagram and WhatsApp.
By placing Muse directly within Instagram’s existing sharing tools, Meta is making its AI assistant a more visible part of users’ everyday social media experience.
