MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Dr Irfan Ashraf, head of Haq Do Tehreek Azad Kashmir, paid heartfelt tribute to Pakistan’s martyrs, including Shaheed Hayat Khan. He said their sacrifices have made Pakistan’s defence strong and unbreakable.
As reported by sources, Dr Irfan Ashraf shared these thoughts during a memorial ceremony held at the grave of Shaheed Hayat Khan, who was martyred in the 1965 war. The event was attended by political activists and the martyr’s family.
Additional Assistant Commissioner Zahid Chauhan was there on behalf of the local authorities. Many local residents, government officials, and community members also came to lay flowers on the grave of the martyred.
Dr Irfan Ashraf said that the bond between the people of Kashmir and Pakistan is deep and goes back in history. From the time of resistance against Maharaja Gulab Singh in 1832 to the tragic loss of over 237,000 Kashmiris, they have always seen their future with a strong and independent Pakistan.
He mentioned that in 1947, Ghazi-e-Millat Sardar Muhammad Ibrahim Khan passed the Resolution of Accession to Pakistan, which guided Kashmir toward its true path.
He also spoke out strongly against those spreading anti-Pakistan ideas. He said that people who oppose Pakistan’s ideology do not support the true interests of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
Dr Irfan Ashraf also warned that the TTP aims to create chaos in Azad Kashmir and urged everyone to stay alert. “We must protect the peace in our region and be careful of the people around us,” he added.
