ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): After the budget announcement, ghee and cooking oil manufacturing companies across the country have arbitrarily increased prices, placing a new burden of inflation on consumers.
According to details, even before the budget, several well-known companies had started increasing the prices of ghee and oil, and now a further increase has been observed.
The prices of ghee and oil have been increased from Rs 550 per liter to Rs 560 and in some brands up to Rs 570.
Lesser-known ghee manufacturing companies
In addition, the prices of ghee and oil from lesser-known companies have also been increased from Rs 350 to Rs 400 per liter, which has further increased the pressure of inflation on consumers.
Farid Qureshi, General Secretary of the Retailers Association, expressed deep concern over this situation, stating that companies were acting arbitrarily even before the budget, adding that the situation has further worsened after the budget.
People said that such increases have made it difficult for the poor to buy daily necessities.
Consumers have demanded that the government immediately take effective measures to stop the arbitrary actions of companies so that the public could get relief.
