NEELAM VALLEY (Kashmir English): The absence of a dedicated sports ground in Taobut, a popular tourist destination in Neelam Valley, has left local youth with limited opportunities to participate in sports and recreational activities.
With no proper playing field available, young people in the area are reportedly forced to use marketplaces, roads, and other open spaces for sports activities, creating difficulties for both players and residents.
Taobut attracts a large number of tourists each year, but residents say the area continues to face a shortage of basic recreational facilities, including a proper sports ground for the local population.
Youth Call for Sports Facilities
Local youth say access to sports facilities is important for encouraging healthy and constructive activities among young people. They believe a dedicated ground would provide a safe space for sports while helping engage the younger generation in positive recreational activities.
Residents have called on the government and relevant authorities to identify a suitable location and construct a proper sports ground in Taobut.
They said the facility would not only benefit local youth but could also provide a venue for sports events and activities in the area.
