ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir Chaudhry Anwar-ul-Haq has said that Kashmiris have been scripting a new history of resistance against India’s illegal occupation by sacrificing even their lives.
In an interview, PM Haq said that Kashmiris have drenched their homeland with red-hot blood.
The martyrs’ sacred blood, he said, would never go in vain.
He said Kashmiris’ struggle is a portrait of pain, perseverance and resilience.
After August 5, 2019, the PM noted, India deployed additional troops in the occupied territory and turned the whole region virtually into a torture chamber.
The entire region, he said, was under a military siege and the Kashmir valley was turned into an information black-hole for the rest of the globe.
The PM said that all the development projects India launched in Kashmir were primarily designed to secure strategic and military gains.
He further said that India tried to host international conferences in Srinagar but the major countries refused to participate, citing the disputed status of the territory.
The PM said that the Pahalgam attack was orchestrated to create a pretext for water aggression.
COAS’ bold stance on Kashmir
PM Haq praised the army chief for adopting a bold stance on Kashmir.
The AJK premier said that Pakistan, as a sovereign state, has every right to respond to Indian hostility in whatever manner it deems fit.
He was of the view that the countries sometimes need to take tough decisions to assert their position and safeguard their existence.
He said that the Pakistani government has given a timely and effective response to India, especially the statements made by the federal government.
