MUZZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The Kashmiris all across the globe are observing the Indian Republic Day as Black Day today, January 26, 2026.

On this occasion, Chairman of the Kashmir Committee, Azad Jammu and Kashmir Bar Council, Muhammad Sagheer Haider Jaral Advocate, said that India has been occupying the occupied state of Jammu and Kashmir for the last 78 years.

For 78 years, oppression has been going on against the Kashmiri people, where the lives, property, and honor of the people are not safe. Thousands of people are being kept in illegal and unconstitutional chains and imprisonment. Basic human rights are being continuously violated.

The Chairman said that an attempt is being made to destroy the identity of Jammu and Kashmir by dividing it. The Indian government and its forces were committing terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir, and by protecting the unconstitutional and illegal measures of August 5, 2019, the Indian Supreme Court has committed judicial terrorism.

He made it clear that we strongly condemn India’s unconstitutional and illegal actions, oppression, and terrorism on the occasion of India’s so-called Republic Day.

The Chairman called on the United Nations and other human rights organizations to raise their voice against India and practically support the Kashmiri people to save the people of Jammu and Kashmir from Indian oppression.

The Chairman further said that we also demand the release of Kashmiri freedom fighters and political leaders, including Yasin Malik, who are unconstitutionally and illegally imprisoned in Indian jails.

On this occasion, he appealed to his nation to create unity and consensus among themselves, end political party and group differences, and struggle for the unity and independence of the state of Jammu and Kashmir with solidarity and unity. The Chairman prayed that Allah Almighty be our supporter and helper.
