LAHORE (Kashmir English): Karachi Kings defeated Lahore Qalandars by four wickets in the 6th match of the continuing PSL 11 at the Gaddafi Stadium here on Sunday.
Karachi Kings achieved the 129-run target on the third ball of the last over.
During Karachi Kings’ innings, the condition of the ball was changed, for which the umpire imposed a 5-run penalty on Lahore Qalandars.
The field umpire awarded Karachi Kings 5 penalty runs due to dissatisfaction with the condition of the ball.
Kings’ performance in the PSL tie
Kings’ batters Mohammad Wasim scored 38, Saad Baig 19, and Moeen Ali 18 runs. Lahore Qalandars captain Shaheen Afridi took 4 wickets for 18 runs.
Playing first, Lahore Qalandars posted a modest total of 128/9 in their 20 overs, setting a target of 129 runs for Karachi Kings to win.
Abdullah Shafique remained the top scorer with 33 runs, while King’s Adam Zampa was the standout bowler, taking 2 wickets for 11 runs.
Lahore Qalandars won the toss and decided to bat first. The entire team could only score 128 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
Lahore’s last five overs were especially very poor, during which they lost 5 wickets for just 20 runs as Karachi Kings’ spin bowling completely dominated Lahore’s batting.
Adam Zampa took 2 wickets for just 11 runs in 4 overs. Moeen Ali and Mir Hamza also took 2 wickets each, further weakening the Qalandars’ innings.
