WAZIRISTAN (Kashmir English): Jamiyat Ulema Islam -Fazal (JUI-F) leader Maulana Hafiz Sultan Muhammad and his minor daughter were martyred in an attack by Khawarij in South Waziristan.
Maulana Hafiz Sultan Muhammad, who was injured in an IED blast, succumbed to his injuries.
Police said that a remote-controlled improvised explosive device (IED) was planted near a religious seminary to target Maulana Sultan Muhammad Wazir, the district president of Wifaq Madaris Al-Arabiya.
He was immediately taken to Dera Ismail Khan for medical treatment, but succumbed to his injuries on the way.
South Waziristan (Lower) District Police Officer (DPO) Muhammad Tahir Shah Wazir confirmed that an investigation into the incident is underway.
He said law enforcement agencies are examining all aspects of the incident, adding that evidence collected from the scene is being analyzed to track down those responsible.
It is saddening to note that this is not the first terror attack in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, while the CM of KP is on a political visit to Sindh province, leaving the people of KP in shatters.
The KP CM is more interested in creating chaos on the streets rather than prioritizing the governance in the province.
