ISLAMABAD (Kahmir English): Journalist and author Aqeel Yousafzai has reportedly come under pressure and faces security concerns following his outspoken remarks about the alleged links between Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F), the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and militant networks operating from Afghanistan.
Known for his independent and outspoken views, Yousafzai has frequently discussed sensitive political and security issues in interviews and articles.
His recent comments concerning the alleged links between Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F), the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and elements operating in Afghanistan have drawn particular attention.
In one of his interviews, Yousafzai reportedly discussed an alleged meeting between JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman and Afghan Taliban leader Mullah Haibatullah Akhundzada.
He claimed that Pakistani security agencies had information regarding the meeting and alleged that comments were made during the interaction concerning the relative importance of Afghan and Pakistani interests.
Yousafzai has also spoken about the TTP’s history and connections with religious-political networks in Pakistan. He has claimed that some former members of JUI-affiliated circles later became associated with militant organizations, including the TTP.
