JHELUM VALLEY (Kashmir English): The Jhelum Valley district administration took decisive action against illegal encroachments and constructions at Jaskol Waterfall, a famous tourist spot in Chinari.
The move follows a recent report by Kashmir Digital, which highlighted the issue of illegal encroachments and the occupation mafia at the waterfall.
A demolition drive was conducted today, and illegal structures were removed from the area.
The operation was overseen by senior officials, including the DG Tourism, Chairman District Council Jhelum Valley, Deputy Commissioner Jhelum Valley, SP Jhelum Valley, and Chief Officer District Council.
The district administration has expressed its commitment to clearing public places of encroachments and maintaining the original beauty of natural tourist spots.
The DG Tourism and the Chairman District Council have agreed to work together to improve the tourist spot and develop a coordinated policy for other destinations.
