MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Former Azad Kashmir Transport Minister Javed Butt has challenged the election results before the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Election Tribunal, alleging electoral rigging and the use of bogus votes.
Javed Butt filed a petition against Muslim League-N candidate Muhammad Yasin Lone, alleging electoral fraud in the constituency.
The Election Tribunal has issued notices to all concerned parties and directed them to submit their responses by October 7, 2026.
According to a press release issued by the tribunal, the hearing of the petition has been scheduled for October 7 at the Civil Secretariat in Chhattar Domail, Muzaffarabad.
The parties have been directed to appear before the tribunal and present their arguments regarding the allegations.
Javed Butt has also announced plans to brief the media and present what he described as the facts surrounding the alleged election irregularities.
